ESCANABA — Desmond Mullen scored four touchdowns here Thursday night to lead the Marquette freshmen football team to a 34-8 conquest of Escanaba. The Redmen also won the season’s first meeting.

Mullen had TD runs of 25 and 75 yards to go with two short runs. David Eberhard returned an interception 14 yards for Marquette’s other TD.

Ayden Mylander collected Escanaba’s lone score, pushing in from a few inches. Nathan Howes addedd the conversion run.

Marquette’s frosh coach is Escanaba native Eric Mason while one of his assistants is Dan Flynn, the former Escanaba varsity football coach and EHS athletic director.
