GLADSTONE — Escanaba and Munising captured top honors Tuesday night in the Gladstone Competitive Cheerleading Invitational at Gladstone High School.
Escanaba and Gladstone competed in Division III, with the Eskymos earning a first-place score of 724. The Braves followed with a runner-up total of 672.
In Division IV, Munising bested four other teams to score a winning total of 671. The Mustangs were followed by Iron Mountain 661, Norway 638 and Manistique 332. The Emeralds opted out of Round 3.
Gladstone coach Kristie Nevala said the Braves continue to work toward the district tournament Feb. 17 at Shepherd High School.
“I thought the girls did great today,” Nevala said. “Every week they are improving and working to clean things up. It was a very good crowd here for a week night.”
