Opposed to hunting

EDITOR: The Daily Press is complicate in the whole sale slaughter of our grandiose front page exploitation of dead deer posing with some pea brained hunter. Hopefully, there will be other subscribers to your newspaper who also threw their Daily Press in the trash with the other garbage and refused to bother reading possible other intelligent newsworthy events. Exploiting this yearly slaughter to sell more newspapers is beyond disgusting. You have lost all credibility and decency. What about elevating your reporting by representing the interests of those who hate this slaughter ...

Quick to listen, slow to anger

EDITOR: As I sit here during my morning devotion time, I anticipate the Thanksgiving holiday this week. It is truly a time for giving thanks for all we have...and how blessed we are. My prayer is for peace amidst all the divisiveness that seems to prevail. I will be 80 this coming year...and I’ve never experienced such division in our country...ever! Concert praised

EDITOR: Once more Escanaba was reminded of God’s goodness. Last Sunday evening the Escanaba Baroque ensemble performed Handel’s Messiah at the St Joseph Catholic Church. This performance, I am sure, was as astonishing as when it was first performed in Dublin, Ireland on April 13, 1742. Cheers, whoopings and applause never stop at the concert in Escanaba! The size of the audience was amazing. The entire sanctuary of St Joe’s Church was filled. All this is a testimony and effect of the story of Jesus’ life and resurrection it still has on us. EDITOR: There was a time not “so” long ago, when we lived together and didn’t give a thought about our differences. They made us interesting and interested in each other. We all enjoyed finding out and talking about differences in food, clothes, music, cars, etc. on and on and still we all stayed friends. Why?
