Treasure our park

EDITOR:

As per photo I donated shown in The Daily Press on June 29, back then I was just a boy having seen the roof rafters sections assembled hauled by truck to the site. Those scenes were the dreams of this small town to add to the million dollar park project. I had the luck to live on Lake Shore Drive where the sign ‘Loren W. Jenkins Drive begins. Having seen and hugged the trees as trees grew up and dot the park with colorful green hues. The park has indeed so much improved for all to absorb by viewers who slowed down by its attractions by its graces. Thanks to Mother Nature as she allowed the water levels to recede and renew our beaches.

To have music on the bay rings a tune with the crickets, fireflies, birds, waves to decorate on Aronson Island and Park with connected with a steady bridge. Such a gem of a location lies those vibrations flowing out onto the bandshell audience wanting to relax that realigns itself to balance our days worth of stresses. Please treasure our heritage the park was meant to be with a song reliving our values of being free. Remember the days when life was simpler? And not so pricey? I remember with enjoyment that red popcorn vender costing us only 10 cents per bag. The sun, moon, and stars also, played an important role in musical vilbrations in mysterious ways as well as blending the music all together even silence is a part.

Over the years I have received many nice comments made by travelers from all over the USA who visited our park and Island.

Thanks to you all past and present who have teamed up to make what our Ludington Park, Aronson Island, and our adjoining marina is today.

With many fond memories,
