On January 4th, the citizens of Upper Michigan learned that Republican Representative Jack Bergman (MI-01) plans to object to certain presidential electors on January 6.

The Delta County Democratic Party disavows this action, as we feel it is an attack on our nation’s voting process and our democracy.

Over 50 lawsuits have been filed on behalf of the Trump campaign, none of which have produced any substantial evidence of voter irregularities, therefore resulting in dismissal. Even our nation’s highest court has refused to hear their case.

In every election there is a winner and a loser. The smooth transition of power is essential to our country’s safety and our democracy’s integrity. President Trump needs to concede.

By Rep. Bergman speaking out denying the results of the presidential election and promoting conspiracy theories, he is inciting division and sowing doubt in our election processes and discrediting its officials.

Representative Bergman: You represent all of us, not just those who voted for you. We implore you to stop this immediately. It is time for the nation to move forward with the winner of the election, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
