Loud pickups annoy other people

EDITOR:

Sound pollution. If you’re causing it, then you’re not likely to read this opinion. Mostly, the sound pollution that I’m concerned with has to do with loud pickups.

Owners have paid money to make their pickups loud. They’ve paid money to be annoying and inconsiderate. It’s not just a few pickups. On busier roads, it’s nearly constant during much of the day, but especially early in the morning and then again in the evening.

These careless individuals interrupt sleep, casual conversation, reading, watching a DVD, or just about anything else. I’m not one for more laws, but I have to admit that I would support one limiting decibel levels from passenger vehicles. I don’t mind the jaking of large trucks. At least these folks are working for a living.

The only purpose of a loud pickup is to annoy other people.
