Grant money origins

I heard on the radio that someone — DDA, the city, or someone — got a grant to upgrade the kitchen at the Downtown Marketplace. It is less than two years old and $80,000 to upgrade the kitchen? I would venture to say that most houses in Escanaba are not even worth $80,000. At least the kitchens are not worth $80,000.
I guess it doesn’t matter since it was “grant money.” That “grant money” came from the “grant money tree.” No. It is our tax money, people.
