League says thank you for assistance

EDITOR:

The League of Women Voters of Delta County would like to extend their thanks to all those who assisted us with our activities during the 2018 election season. Thank you to the Daily Press for partnering with us to produce the 2018 Voter Guide and our financial sponsors for their generous support of the Voter Guide. They are: Bay de Noc Community College, the Escanaba Education Association, First Bank, the Gladstone Education Association, the Island Resort & Casino, the Michigan Education Association and Upper Peninsula State Bank. These sponsors allow us to bring to our citizens information they need to make thoughtful decisions regarding candidates and issues in Delta County and the state of Michigan.

The League strives to bring a quality publication to our citizens. We offer candidates an opportunity to “interview” for whatever position they are seeking, by answering a set of questions. We thank those candidates who took the time to respond to our questions.

The League also provided an online Voter Guide – Vote411.org. We hope that you sought it out and will continue to do so for every election.

In addition, we need to thank those that assisted us with our Candidate Forum on 10/24. Our thanks to the City of Escanaba for use of the City Council Chambers, to Craig Woerpel/WDBC radio for broadcasting the forum and to Aaron Dieter/DSTech for his technology expertise. Special thanks to the candidates who participated for the 38th Senate, the 108th State Representative and the Bay College Board of Trustees. Thanks to all the media for their promotion and coverage of this event.

The League works very hard during election years to bring our citizens information they can use to assist in the voting process. We are grateful to all those who work with us to provide the information our citizens need to make informed voting decisions.

Democracy is not a spectator sport! Thank you for participating in the process.

Ann Bissell

Voter Service Chair of the LWVDC
