Cancer Alliance gets support

This week’s bouquets go to:

From the Delta County Cancer Alliance:

Deborah Johnson, a former resident of Escanaba, designated upon her passing a significant charitable contribution to the Delta County Cancer (DCCA). This contribution came to be with the help of her financial advisor Brad Nordin. Brad, a lifelong resident of Escanaba, suggested to Deborah, during her estate planning, the idea to support the DCCA upon her passing. He explained to her the impact the DCCA has made supporting Delta County residents who have and continue to endure the challenges of cancer. Brad emphasized that the Cancer Alliance provides financial support to individuals allowing them to focus on treatments instead of financial burdens.

Because Deborah said yes to Brad’s suggestion so many individuals in Delta County diagnosed with cancer will be assured continued financial support during this very difficult time in their lives.

In 2024 alone the DCCA served 256 clients totaling $148,974.86. Because all donations stay here in Delta County we are supporting many of our own family members, neighbors and friends enduring the challenges of cancer. In addition, The DCCA operates with all volunteers including our entire Board of Directors which allows us to keep operations minimal ensuring cancer patients are being supported.

On behalf of the DCCA Board, volunteers, clients, and Delta County community we encourage more individuals like Deborah with the support of financial advisors like Brad to consider donating to the alliance today, tomorrow and upon your passing. Each and every gift will make a difference in the lives of so many cancer patients in Delta County.

For anybody out there who is looking for an opportunity to share their financial resources either as a Qualified Charitable Contribution to offset Required Minimum Distributions or to include in a Trust upon passing; please call Gayle DeShambo, DCCA Board President at 906-241-6689 and we can work together to arrange the details.
