Tip line lets residents report businesses violating order

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has provided guidelines on how people can file complaints of individuals and businesses violating Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” executive order.

The Attorney General’s Consumer Protection intake team will continue to receive consumer reports of price-gouging and scams. Reports can be made online or by calling the office’s tip line at 877-765-8388.

For other violations, residents of Michigan are advised to contact their local law enforcement agency.

People seeking interpretation of the executive order can review its text at michigan.gov/coronavirus. If this does not resolve their questions, interpretation requests can be emailed; however, responses to these questions will likely be delayed as the Attorney General’s office discusses them with the Governor’s Office to reach a final determination.
