Community support happens in many ways

Bouquets

This week's Bouquet --

On behalf of the Delta County Cancer Alliance we would like to share this Bouquet of Thanks to one of our amazing local businesses, Berger & King Inc. With the recent move into the Christ the King Lutheran Church, we have been blessed with an amazing environment to provide Cancer Alliance business. However, the location of our offices included a restroom designed for young folks. Knowing that many of our volunteers are no longer considered young folk, we discussed what we can do to provide them with a toilet that is more user friendly.

Now this may sound silly, but the DCCA Board knows that we cannot operate and serve our community without our volunteers. So board member Jennifer Sovey took it upon herself to ask her dear friend, Chuck, an employee at Berger & King, if he would be willing to properly install a new toilet if we could find one. He not only said yes but met with store owner Sandy King and she agreed to donate a comfort height toilet and seat.

My friends, it is not always the big glamorous things that make a difference, it's the little things that keep things going. Thank you, Chuck, Sandy and Berger & King for your support.
