Joan Jane Savage
ESCANABA — Joan Jane Savage, age 92, of Escanaba passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba. She was born April 18, 1933, in Niles, MI and was the daughter of William and Frances (Seibert) Hipshear. The former Joan J. Hipshear married William R. Savage on July 28, 1951, in Niles, MI and he preceded her in death on April 10, 2005.
Joan is survived by daughters Carman Mitchell of Sacramento, CA and Cheryl Savage of Escanaba; son Alan (Joan) Savage of Traverse City, MI; four Grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son Eric.
Private services were held. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the Delta County Historical Society, 16 Beaumire Way, Escanaba, MI 49829.
