He was born on February 24, 1964 in Madison, Wis., son of Arthur William and Karen Ann (Heath) Ziebell, Jr. As a military family, they were transferred to California when Art was at a young age. He moved to Escanaba prior to his freshman year and graduated from Escanaba High School in 1982.

On November 3, 1984, Art married the former Beverly K. Zawacki at St. Patrick’s Church in Escanaba. They shared 40 beautiful years of marriage and were blessed with three daughters.

In Art’s younger years, he enjoyed biking, bowling, and being involved in car shows. He and Bev enjoyed camping and they rarely missed a Fun Run. They enjoyed doing anything and everything together. With a passion for volleyball, he coached for Holy Name School and Escanaba School for a total of 12 years. Art also committed 10 years as a referee for volleyball for multiple schools and umpired softball as well. In his free time, he often could be found tinkering in his garage and he enjoyed going on side-by-side rides. Spending time with his family and cheering on his children and grandchildren in their sports and activities were also a priority for Art. He loved and cherished his family.

Art and Bev have been long time members of St. Anne’s Church and were very active as ushers.
