Gary M. Kidd, Sr.

ESCANABA — Gary M. Kidd, Sr., 72, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at his home in Escanaba. Gary was born on May 1, 1953, in Escanaba, the son of Robert and Rose (Tordeau) Kidd.
Gary was a hard worker and provider for his family with various careers through the years. As a young man, Gary worked as a mariner/crew member on the Great Lakes ore boats. He spent several years in the logging industry before ending his career and retiring with almost 30 years of service as a union laborer with Laborer’s Local 330 of Menasha, Wis.
Gary was united in marriage to Linda Demeuse on December 10, 1993. In total, the couple spent over 51 years together raising a family.
In addition to his loving wife, Linda, Gary is survived by his son, Gary (Schuyler) Kidd, Jr. of Pittsburgh, Penn.; stepson, Bill (Yolanda) Godfrey of Two Rivers, Wis.; brothers, Dave (Donna) Kidd and Dale (Sandy) Kidd; sisters, Shelly Kidd, Gloria Wilder, and Jan (John) Dahn; grandchildren, Joseph Brault, Billy and Mercedes Godfrey, Travis, Courtney, Kelsea, Justin, and Stefan Kidd.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rose Kidd; son, Ron Kidd; and sister, Judy Lippens.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, June 17 from 11 a.m. until noon at Our Savior Lutheran Church at 2401 N. Lincoln Rd, Escanaba. Funeral services at noon with a luncheon to follow and Rev. Ben Ramthun officiating. Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Kidd family.
