Thomas Robert Anderson

Tom was born to parents George “Yutch” and Melba (Pearson) Anderson on September 2, 1948, in Escanaba. He graduated from Escanaba Highschool in 1966, married in 1969, received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Northern Michigan University in 1971, and had two daughters. He owned and operated Anderson Tire until he retired.

Tom loved music through and through. He sang and played the organ in several bands, including Escanaba High School Band, East of Orange, Venus, and Trax. He loved his cars and kept each of them immaculate. He was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity and the Eagles Club. He enjoyed riding his bike, playing cribbage, rooting for the Packers, watching Jeopardy and Perry Mason, and spending time with family… especially his grandchildren. He cherished his Coffee Clutch, and short story, long… he held his dear friends close to his heart.

Tom is survived by his ex-wife, Mariann (Sacha) Anderson; daughters, Amy Nelson (Shawn) and Sarah Anderson (Eric); grandchildren, Ava and Grant Nelson; nephew, Craig Taylor, and his many beloved friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Melba, and sister Karen.

In keeping with Tommy’s wishes, a funeral service will not be held. A celebration of life is being planned for early 2024.
