Michael ‘Josh’ R. Richards

PERKINS — Michael “Josh” R. Richards, age 77, of Perkins, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Hospital.

Josh was born on November 20, 1945, in Escanaba, the son of Bud and Gloria (Cartwright) Richards. Josh was raised in the Escanaba area and attended Gladstone High School. Josh served in the United States Army until he was honorably discharged. He was a skilled machinist and worked for Marble Arms for 21 years until his retirement. He also enjoyed working in his garage putsing on cars, making trailers, and welding. He also loved to hunt. Most of all, he loved his family and would do anything for them. He was very proud that he was able to donate stem cells to his brother, Dan, and saved his life from bone cancer. He will be truly missed.

Josh is survived by his grandchildren, Joshua (Samantha) Richards, Ronald Cayer, Kaitlin (Lucas) Davenport and their son Liam, and Samantha Richards; ex-wife, Caroline (Klotz) Moulds; siblings, Sharon Calouette, Rodger (Kathy) Richards, Lynn “Turnip” (Linda) Richards, Linda “Lou Lou” Bruce, Gloria (Warren) Brown, Sue (Dale) Vorac, Steve (Mary) Richards, Jack (Chris) Richards, Kristine “Beanie” (Joe) Kircgatter, and Dan (Mary) Richards.

Josh is preceded by his parents, Bud and Gloria, children Amy Cayer and Michael Richards Jr., grandson Cody Cayer, and brothers Robbi Purcell and Peter Richards.
