Steven W. Mineau

Steven W. Mineau

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — Steven W. Mineau, age 66, of Middletown, Conn. — husband of Janet (Meeker) Mineau, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021, with his wife and children by his side. Steven was born August 6, 1954, to the late Carlton and Shirley (Guay) Mineau of Gladstone, Mich.

Steven graduated from Gladstone High School in 1972, to then go on to serve in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked as a chef at Middlesex Hospital for 30 years before retiring in 2019. He was so many wonderful things; a great husband, amazing dad and the best Pa ever. If you knew him, the Green Bay Packers are likely the first thing that comes to mind when you think of him. (Go Pack Go!) His trip to Lambeau Field with Janet was the highlight of 2017. He shares this love (or as some would call it, an obsession) of the Packers with his grandson.

In addition to his wife of 29 years, he is survived by his four children, Tina Augeri and Chris of Middletown, Rick Wilcox and Dianne of Durham, Rebecca Harvey and Jacob of East Hampton and Carlyn Mineau and Kevin of Colchester; his two grandchildren, Ciarah Augeri and Nolan Harvey; his brother David Mineau and Karen of Marysville, Mich.; his sister Glenda Nevala and Jim of Escanaba, Mich.; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Steve’s heart was bigger than life itself. His love for his family shined as he always put their needs before his own. He will be missed dearly, but his presence and memory will survive in all the lives of those he has left behind.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at the Durham Fire Department, located at 41 Main St., Durham, CT 06422, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or American Heart Association.
