Jacqueline L. Wigand

She was born in Decatur,I on May 5, 1935, the daughter of William (Mildred) Bradley and Jessie Allen. Jacqueline was raised in Decatur but relocated to Escanaba in her 20’s.

On March 1, 1973, Jacqueline married Kenneth Wigand. Together they owned and operated Wardy’s Bar in Escanaba for 17 years. Jacqueline previously worked at Harnischfeger and most recently at Whispering Pines, taking care of the elderly until her retirement.

Following retirement, Jacqueline enjoyed spending time at her home on the river where she could often be found tending to her flowers and garden, especially her beautiful peony patch. She loved playing bingo and being with her family.

She is survived by her children, Jon Lemerand of Wisconsin Dells, Wis., Jodi Wigand of Bark River, and Karen Wigand of Escanaba; grandchildren, Justin (Triniti) Kleikamp and son, Hudson, Bradley Kleikamp and son, Zayden, Adam Kleikamp, William Kleikamp II, Jennifer Congine, Nicole Lemerand, Amanda Lemerand, Katie Lemerand, Cody Lemerand, Robert (Michelle) Spears, and Dawn Spears.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents and husband; sons, Craig Spears and Lloyd Spears; granddaughter, Kim Spears; great-grandson, Josh Spears; and siblings, William Bradley and Judy Bline.

A celebration of Jacqueline’s life will take place at a later date.
