Gerald ‘Jerry’ Edward Francis Cappaert

He was born on April 15, 1939 to Frank and Doreen Cappaert in Ingalls, Mich. Jerry graduated from Stephenson High School in 1957. He married Evelyn Anne Poquette in 1958 in Hermansville, Mich.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children, Randy (Lori) Cappaert, Brian (friend, Robin) Cappaert, Pamela (Chris) Wentland, Penny (Ken) Stark, Jeanine (Scott) Charboneau and Jason (Kim) Cappaert; sister, Doreen (Dolly) Kindle; sisters-in-law, Helen Cappaert, Harriet Poquette, Beverly Poquette and Gail (Jim) Cater, brothers-in-law, Jack Peterson and Loren (Yvonne) Poquette. Gerald is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Friday, Sept. 18, beginning at 2 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Bark River. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 4 p.m. (Eastern Time). Graveside service will follow at Meyer Township Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank some special friends, Lynn Hansen, Sue Kwarciany, Terry and Janet Pirlot, Carl Bartosek and Ray Livingston. Much appreciation extended to all those who visited and cared for Jerry including Community Action, hospice nurses, aids and Rev. Darryl Pepin for his love and support.
