David Charles Ingebrigtsen

ESCANABA — David Charles Ingebrigtsen, 73, of Escanaba, passed away Friday evening, Feb. 7, 2020, at U.P. Health System – Marquette. He was born on March 24, 1946, in Gladstone, the son of Iver and Virginia (Larsen) Ingebrigtsen. David grew up in Gladstone and was a 1964 graduate of Gladstone High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on Sept. 10, 1964, and served his country during the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged on Sept. 2, 1968. After returning from the service, from 1973 – 1980, David had a passion for country music and was a huge promoter of country music shows in the Escanaba area. He was employed by Clairmont Transfer as an over the road truck driver for 37 years. He then moved to Milwaukee, Wis., and worked for Consolidated Freight as a truck driver until his retirement. During that time, David also worked part-time for 14 years as a tax preparer. David married the former Gloria Scheaman on Aug. 23, 1997, in Milwaukee. Together, the couple shared nearly 23 years of marriage. In May of 2012, David and Gloria relocated to Escanaba. He was proud to have served his country and enjoyed living in the area he grew up in. David will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

David Charles Ingebrigtsen is survived by his wife, Gloria Ingebrigtsen of Escanaba; daughters, Penny (Jeff) Petermann of Port Washington, Wis., and Cheryl Ingebrigtsen (fiance Rich Poole) of Port Washington, Wis.; grandchildren, Kayla, Jennifer, David, Ashley, and Kristin; four great-grandchldren; brother, Dwayne Ingebrigtsen of Escanaba, Dale (Rhonda) Ingebrigtsen of Escanaba, Darryl (Karen) Ingebrigtsen of Escanaba; and Dean (Lisa) Ingebrigtsen of Escanaba; as well as many nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Donny and Denis Ingebrigtsen.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 13. Military honors will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel by the Delta County Veterans Council. A dessert reception will be held at the conclusion of the services in the Anderson Funeral Home Reception Room. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
