Joan M. Boucher

ESCANABA — Joan M. Boucher, 92, of Escanaba, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, at OSF St. Francis Hospital.

She was born on Nov. 19, 1926, in Marinette, daughter of Frank and Rozella (Stoveken) Noskey. Joan was raised in Pembine and Gladstone. She graduated from Gladstone High School in 1946.

Joan married Donald A. Boucher on Sept. 30, 1946, at All Saints Church in Gladstone. He preceded her in death. She worked for Michigan Bell as a phone operator and draftsman.

Joan enjoyed collecting and restoring antique dolls. She was an avid reader, loved to hunt for treasures at auctions and antique fairs and going to the casino.

Among survivors are her daughter, Diane Boucher of Escanaba; four grandchildren, Amy and James Pineau, Amity Chairez and Nicholas Deremer; three great-grandchildren, Devin, Morgan and Anna; and siblings, Margaret LaFond, Jack (Jean) Noskey and Dorothy (Vern) LaPlant all of Gladstone; and son-in-law, Paul Pineau.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; daughter, Nancy Deremer; son, Jimmy; and brother, Francis “Bud”.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with Deacon Terry Saunders officiating.

Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
