Erick H. Marcinkewciz

He was born Aug. 21, 1972 in Escanaba, the son of Tony and Carolyn (Rice) Marcinkewciz. The family moved to Big Rapids in 1976, where Erick attended St. Peter’s Lutheran School. In 1991, he graduated from Big Rapids High School, and then earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ferris State University.

Erick opened his computer repair business, Strictly Computers, in downtown Big Rapids, and continued working at it throughout his life. We will miss his happy-go-lucky attitude and friendly smile. If anyone wanted to talk politics, that is where you went.

On Aug. 18, 2001, he married Debra Kay Smith, who survives. Also surviving are their two children, Gwen and Evan; his mother Carolyn; and his brother John. He was preceded in death by his father Tony in 1988, and he will be missed dearly by all of us.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2018 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Big Rapids, with Rev. Jonathan Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Evart. Erick’s family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, and after 10 a.m. on Monday at the church.
