Marjorie Ann Kozlowski

SCHAFFER — Marjorie Ann Kozlowski, 93, of Schaffer, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018, at U.P. Health Systems in Marquette.

Marjorie was born on May 6, 1924, in Michigan City, Ind.., to Fardine and Anna (Stozek) Derouin. Her family returned to Escanaba when she was two years old. She attended Webster School until they moved back to Perronville to take care of her grandmother. She was at Perronville School, then attended Harris High School for one year.

At the age of 16, Marjorie then went to work on the local farms cooking and helping with children. She relocated to Escanaba and worked at St. Francis Hospital, the House of Ludington, and Photo Art.

On June 9, 1945, she married Henry Kozlowski at St. Michael’s Church in Perronville. They had one daughter, Carol, and spent 37 years together until Henrys passing in 1982.

Marjorie will always be remembered for her quick sense of humor, her stylish wardrobe, and of course her love of hats.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol of Bark River; granddaughters, Cindy (Dean) Bloniarz of Perronville and Michelle (Andy) Flagstadt of Bark River; grandsons, John (Roxanne) Derouin of Gladstone and Steve (Mollie) Derouin of Bark River; great-grandchildren, Ashley (Brad) Anderson, Justin (Kylie) Bloniarz, Dylan Bloniarz, Lauryn Bloniarz, Stephanie Derouin, Dan Derouin, Abbie Flagstadt and Callie Flagstadt; great great grandchildren, Sawyer and Collyns Anderson, Carsyn and Raylie Bloniarz, Joslyn Pellegrini and Tanner Wellman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; parents, Fardine and Anne; sister, Ethel; brother, Albert; and son-in-law, Buzzy Derouin.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 15, at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River from 3 to 5:30 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 5:30 p.m. with Rev. Darryl Pepin officiating.

Burial will take place Friday, March 16, at noon at Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
