Rhonda L. Daley

GLADSTONE — Rhonda L. Daley, 62, of 1705 Dakota Ave., Gladstone, passed away Thursday afternoon, Feb. 15, 2018, at home surrounded by family. She was born on March 31, 1955, in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Simon and Gladys (Irvin) Smith. She was raised in Seagoville, Texas, where she attended and graduated from high school. Rhonda was also a member of the high school drill team. The former Rhonda Smith married Thomas Daley on April 25, 1980, in Rockwall, Texas. Together the couple shared 37 years of marriage and raised two children, Thomas and Robyn Daley. After many years of living in various places, Tom and Rhonda settled in Gladstone in 1991. She took great pride in being a stay at home mother, raising her two children and caring for her family. In her later years, she was employed at the Gladstone SuperValu as a cashier where she enjoyed meeting new people.

Rhonda enjoyed going to the casino with her husband and her dear friend, Bunny. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Rhonda was a huge fan of Blake Shelton and enjoyed watching The Voice and the Ellen Degeneres Show. She rarely missed an episode. Rhonda liked visiting the Gladstone SuperValu for her daily donuts. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Rhonda L. Daley is survived by husband, Thomas Daley of Gladstone; daughter, Robyn (Nathan) Morrison of Gladstone; five granddaughters, Morgan Daley, Kelsey Daley, Harper Daley, Rowan Daley, and McKinley Morrison; brothers, CJ (Judy) Smith, and Vernon (Sandra) Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Rhonda was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Lee Daley; and brother, Robby “Lynn” Smith.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Rhonda will follow at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dave Hanson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials please be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of Rhonda’s two grandchildren, Morgan and Kelsey Daley, who live with Cystic Fibrosis.
