Sandra L. Scheidemantel

Sandra was born in Holland, Mich. on Sept. 16, 1947, daughter of Kenneth Veldheer and Ceila (Nagelkirk) Reinhardt. She was raised in Holland and graduated from Holland High School. She graduated from Lake Superior State University with a bachelors in Accounting.

She worked as an accountant for the Island Resort and Casino for 23 years until her retirement Nov. 10, 2017.

The most important thing in Sandra’s life was spending time with her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them making cookies, going to the movies, taking them to lunch, and just supporting them in every aspect of their lives.

In addition, she loved her cat Rusty who she adopted from the animal shelter as a timid, shy kitten. In her free time she loved to cook, read, play cards, and play bingo on the internet.

Among survivors are her children, Douglas of St. Louis, Mo., and Nicole (John Jr.) Mathias of Wilson; grandchildren, Brooke Mathias of DePere, Wis., and Holly Mathias of Wilson; mother, Ceila (Nagelkirk) Reinhardt of Escanaba; sisters, Sharon Lark of Escanaba, and Susie Collins of Torrance, Calif.; multiple nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth; her stepfather, Peter Reinhardt; and two step-brothers.
