Cornell woman arrested after biting trooper during animal neglect investigation

CORNELL – A woman was arrested Wednesday after biting a Michigan State Police (MSP) Trooper on the wrist during an investigation into a report alleging animal neglect.

MSP Troopers completed a search warrant Wednesday at a residence on County Road 426 in Cornell and discovered several deceased animals on the property, according to a MSP news release. Live animals were found malnourished and seized from the property.

During the investigation, Brianna Makosky, 22, began resisting and obstructing troopers before biting one on the wrist. She proceeded to fight troopers after being informed of her arrest.

Makosky was taken into custody and is lodged in the Delta County Jail.
