The House Band had filled the House of Ludington with music for 121 Wednesdays in a row before the streak was ended by the devastating fire at the Escanaba landmark Dec. 5. But the instruments survived, and the band was welcomed to Leigh's, where fans followed and donated to the collection fund started for the former tenants and employees of the House of Ludington. About $1,700 was raised that night, and the fund reportedly has reached about $9,000 as of Friday evening. (R. R. Branstrom | Daily Press)
