COOKS — The 53rd annual Cooks Corn Roast, the major fundraiser for the Inwood Township Volunteer Fire Department, will be held on Aug. 17. The event will be held at the Inwood Township Fire Hall, located in Cooks about half a mile north of U.S. Highway 2 on County Road 442.

Aside from the corn, the raffle is a big part of the event. Tickets are $10 each. The grand prize is a side-by-side: a 2025 Can Am Defender HD9. Second prize is two 10-foot kayaks; third, an ATI Crusader over/under shotgun; fourth, a Masterbuilt 30-inch electric smoker; and fifth, a 55-quart Lifetime hard-sided, wheeled cooler.

Drawing will be at 7:30 p.m. the evening of the corn roast.
