Champions crowned at US Log Rolling Open

GLADSTONE –The 9th Annual US Log Rolling Open took place Saturday at Van Cleve Park, drawing top professional lumberjack athletes from across the country for a full day of fierce competition and high-level athleticism.

Claiming gold in the Women’s Log Rolling Division was Livi Pappadopoulos of Holmen, Wis. On the Men’s side, Anthony Polentini of Chicago, Ill. earned the top podium spot after an intense five-fall final match against Connor Birdsong of La Crosse, Wis.

In the Boom Run competition, where athletes sprint across a series of seven free-spinning logs tethered end to end, Polentini captured a second gold in the men s division with a time of 13.853 seconds, while Meredith Ingbretson of Hayward, Wis. topped the women’s field with a time of 15.913 seconds.

This year’s event featured 31 professional athletes from across the United States, delivering action-packed matchups between seasoned veterans and rising rookies.

In a standout moment, rookie Aini Anderson of Holmen, Wis., took a fall on Pappadopoulos. But Pappadopoulos ultimately advanced with a 3-1 victory and went on to secure her seventh consecutive title since the event moved to Gladstone.
