WELLS TOWNSHIP – Escanaba Public Safety respond to a structure fire that resulted in a total loss of a building.

On Sunday, around 1:48 a.m., officers responded to a structure fire at 2853 16.5 Road in Wells Township.

Officers arrived on scene, and found a two-story structure to be fully engulfed. There were no occupants in the building and firefighters were on scene for four and half hours, and the home is considered a total loss. No injuries were reported.

Escanaba Public Safety was assisted by Ford River Township Fire Department, the Escanaba Township Fire Department, the Bark River Township Fire Department, UPPCO, the Delta County Central Dispatch Center, and Scott Karl of JC Property Maintenance for providing assistance with a logging truck.
