Minor injuries in camper fire

Escanaba Public Safety responded to a camper fire in Escanaba. On Wednesday about 11:30 a.m., officers were called to the 2100 block of 13th Avenue South for reports of an active camper fire with an individual trapped inside. Officers were able to contain the flames. The person inside was able to get out with only minor injuries and sought their own treatment. Assisting at the scene were the Delta County Sheriff’s Office and Rampart EMS. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
