Gladstone Bravebots heading to Worlds competition

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone BraveBots robotics team will be heading to Houston, Texas to compete in the Worlds competition. The team performed well in the States competition over the weekend, but eventually lost to the eventual state champion in the playoffs, according to Bravebots Coach Tim Barron. The Bravebots ended with a record of 9-3 in qualification matches and finished ranked 2nd on the Hemlock Semiconductor Field. The Bravebots were the captain of the second alliance and picked team #3175 Knight Vision from Grosse Pt Hills and team #5152 AlotoBots from Otsego. According to Barron, the Bravebots are now ranked seventh in the state. Other Upper Peninsula robotics teams making it to Worlds at Houston are the Ontonagon Gladiators, Brimley Deceivers, Iron River Automatons and Houghton Superior Roboworks. The Bravebots will be leaving Sunday, April 14 for Houston and will be returning Sunday. April 21.
