INDIAN RIVER–There was good, there was bad, but it’s baseball in April.

Manistique ventured to Indian River for three games on Saturday. Here’s what went down:

Manistique 8, East Jordan 4

The Emeralds found themselves trailing the Red Devils 3-1 midway through three innings. Then the green and white exploded with a big inning.

Jayce Goudreau, Alex Noble, Britt Frain and Kody Brudvick all came up with RBI at bats for a five-run frame and a 7-3 lead. Parker Graphos extended the lead to 8-3 on a RBI sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth.

Brudvick finished 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and an RBI. Isiah Brow earned three stolen bases and scored three times. Graphos earned the win on the mound, allowing four runs (three earned) off five hits with two walks and seven strikeouts.

Charlevoix 5, Manistique 1

The bats went silent in game two, mustering one run off a RBI double from Brow in the third inning. He took the loss on the mound, allowing five runs (one earned) off five hits with a walk and five strikeouts in six innings of work.

The Emeralds committed five errors.

Inland Lakes 3, Manistique 0

The Emeralds failed to scratch across a run in Saturday’s finale and committed two errors.

Brow finished 2-for-3 with a stolen base. Frain and Jeff Lampin earned a base hit each.

Cooper Curtis took the loss, allowing three unearned runs off four hits with four walks and six strikeouts in five innings of action.

The Emeralds travel to face Superior Central for a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday.
