Person found dead in burning vehicle
MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A person was found dead in a burning vehicle in Marquette County, according to the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to a vehicle fire at 9:50 p.m. Friday night on County Road near Everly Way. Deputies said they found a vehicle engulfed in flames in a nearby wooded area.
After the fire was extinguished by the Marquette Township Fire Department a body was found inside. The name of the victim is not being released until they are positively identified.
Deputies were assisted by the Michigan State Police, Marquette Township Fire and EMS, UP Health Systems EMS, Marquette County Road Commission, Anttilas Towing, and Central Dispatch.
