ESCANABA — There is a change in leadership at the Escanaba harbor. Effective immediately, the Escanaba Recreation Department will be overseeing the harbormaster position.

“With a dedication to serving the community and ensuring the smooth operation of recreational activities on our waterfront, the recreation department is well positioned to take on this important responsibility,” city officials said in a press release. “The harbormaster’s role encompasses various duties vital to the safe and efficient management of harbor activities, including overseeing vessel traffic, enforcing regulations and ensuring the overall safety of harbor users.

The integration of responsibilities into the recreation department reflects our commitment to streamline operations and provide enhanced services to our residents and visitors alike.”
