Employees at Elmer’s County Market in Escanaba cheer as their coworkers who are graduating from high school walk in a procession through the store Thursday. Elmer’s started honoring its graduating employees this way when the pandemic began and in-person graduation ceremonies were canceled at area schools. The store has continued the event each year since. The graduates were also treated to graduation cakes and a lunch for all employees. Graduates who were honored by Elmers are: Adam Willette, Claire VanGinhoven, Cole Crowe, Gracie Wickham, Gunnar Dlugas, Jacob Magreta, Lukas Hanson, Nick Frappier, Riley Curtis and Sasha Olsen.
