Spectators joined in the countdown before the lighting of the Escanaba Christmas Tree at Center Court Tuesday night. The annual tradition officially kicks off the holiday season in the city and was held in conjunction with the annual Black Friday on Tuesday shopping promotion. After the tree was lit, smiling faces took selfies with the tree, enjoyed a snack, or rushed back to the shops — which were open late — to snag a holiday deal.
