GLADSTONE — A Gladstone man died after a motorcycle crash with a deer in Gladstone.

Michigan State Police at the Gladstone Post said Richard Patrick, 53, was southbound on a motorcycle on US-2/41 near Lake Bluff around 5 a.m. Tuesday.

He struck a deer and was thrown from the motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet, according to troopers.

He was transported from the scene to OSF St. Francis Hospital by Rampart EMS and was then quickly airlifted to UP Health System in Marquette. He died later as a result of his injuries.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by Delta County Sheriff Department, Gladstone Public Safety, Rampart and Gene’s Towing.
