ROCK — Police are still investigating a fatal shooting that took place on New Year’s Day in Baldwin Township.

At 2:30 p.m. Friday, troopers from the Michigan State Police and deputies from the Delta County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a domestic incident at a private residence on St. Nicholas Road, south of Rock. One of the subjects involved in the incident, a 24-year-old male, was transported to UP Health Systems – Marquette with a single gunshot wound. The man died of the injury.

The Delta County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Delta County prosecutor and the Michigan State Police crime lab during the investigative process. No further information was available as of press time, and the incident remains under investigation.
