Teachers in Delta County began receiving the COVID-19 vaccine last week, according to OSF St. Francis Hospital officials. Above, Dane Quigley, an English teacher at English teacher in the Gladstone School District, gets vaccinated. “My choice to get vaccinated was to protect myself against COVID-19, but also to protect my family, friends, students, and coworkers,” Quigley said. “This is a monumental moment for me both personally and professionally. I know that many families and lives have been ravaged by COVID-19 or the residual effects throughout the last year, so this vaccine represents both “hope” and “humanity.” This vaccine was the work of many people coming together for the greater good of humanity and it has given us hope against this virus for a potential return to normalcy that many of our students need.”
