Man sentenced to jail on cocaine charge
ESCANABA — An Escanaba man who was originally arrested on a 20-year cocaine felony and later pleaded to a four-year felony was sentenced to four months in jail in Delta County Circuit Court this week.
Jameson Aaron Hanford, 39, was arrested in late December on one count of delivery/manufacture of up to 50 grams of cocaine, a 20-year felony, stemming from a March 2, 2017, incident in Escanaba investigated by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team.
He later pleaded guilty to one count of possession of less than 25 grams of cocaine, a four-year felony and the original charge was dismissed.
In addition to serving time in jail, Hanford was placed on probation for 24 months. He was ordered to pay a total of $1,148 in fines and costs. He was given credit for serving 110 days in jail. His drivers license was suspended for 30 days and restricted for 150 days.
