Barn destroyed by fire in Escanaba Sunday
ESCANABA — A barn was destroyed by fire early Sunday morning on the city’s south side, Escanaba Public Safety officers said.
Officers found the structure at 2095 8th Ave. S. fully engulfed in flames when responders arrived on the scene at 2:23 a.m. Sunday. The structure was a barn behind a residence, which later collapsed after the fire was extinguished. Firefighters battled the blaze for approximately two and half hours before clearing the scene.
The barn was a total loss, including all of the contents inside. Cause of the blaze is still under investigation. No injuries were reported.
Assisting Escanaba Public Safety was Delta County Central Dispatch, Ford River Volunteer Fire Department, Delta County Sheriff’s Department, Rampart, and the city electrical department.
