Bean bag fundraiser at Upper Hand Brewery

ESCANABA — On Sept. 12, the Upper Hand Brewery is supporting the Escanaba Quarterback Club for a bean bag game based fundraiser. Registration starts at 3 p.m. at Upper Hand Brewery, with play starting at 4 p.m. The entry fee for the event is $25 per two-person team. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the event. There will be entertainment during the event and an after party. Honor Flight fundraiser Saturday

BARK RIVER — An event featuring music by the Peltier Brothers will for the second year raise money for the Upper Peninsula Honor Flight. In Bark River, multiple raffles, at least one food truck, and live music comes together at 2026 Old U.S. 2 and 41, near the corner of 69. The event is scheduled for 3 to 7 p.m. this Saturday. Plenty of parking and room for side-by-sides are available. The event is BYOB. A flyer for the event teases "something exciting coming from the sky."

ESCANABA — Yesterday, as Americans enjoyed a holiday, the sun shone in Escanaba while large groups representing the area's labor unions marched in a parade from near the Karas Memorial Bandshell in Ludington Park to the Municipal Dock, where a concert and activities followed.
