ESCANABA — St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church of Escanaba recently organized a collection drive for Foster Closet. Between Nov. 30 and Dec. 21, they asked community members to drop off to their church at 500 Ogden Ave. items from a list of needs for U.P. Foster Closet of Delta County.
Foster Closet, operated by Jennifer Tourangeau, is a nonprofit that supplies families raising foster children with clothing and other materials.
The drive conducted by St. Stephen’s raised $2,000 for the charity.
“The campaign resulted in many donations of clothing, personal care and infant products along with monetary donations,” wrote Pat Royer on behalf of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
The U.P. Steam and Gas Engine Association also donated to Foster Closet. They presented a check for $500, which they had raised through a quilt raffle.
