Limestone FCU, FHLBank Indianapolis award scholarship funds
Chippewa County – Limestone Financial Credit Union (Limestone FCU) partnered with FHLBank Indianapolis (FHLBI) to award $25,000 through the Money Masters Scholarship Program to first-generation college freshman students at Lake Superior State University (LSSU). Fifteen students who met the eligibility criteria each received $1,666.66 in scholarship funds.
Through this partnership, students gained more than just scholarship support. They participated in guided financial education and built critical money management skills that will set them up for long-term success. Students selected for the scholarship took part in several financial literacy and hands-on learning opportunities to grow both academically and financially. The program included financial education through a no-cost, four-week course, Adulting 101, offered on LSSU’s campus and hosted by Limestone FCU.
“This program is about more than funding; it’s about opening doors,” said Jennifer C. Watson, CEO at Limestone FCU. “Supporting first-generation students is an investment in students’ long term financial independence. We’re proud to equip these students with both financial knowledge and hands-on support as they begin their college journey. We are thrilled to maximize on these opportunities offered through our membership in the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis.”
In 2026, the Money Masters Scholarship Program will reopen for another group of up to 25 first-generation college freshman students at Lake Superior State University.
