GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Public Library on Saturday hosted “Santa is on his Way” story hour, a multi-part Christmas-themed event for children, sponsored by the Friends of the Gladstone Library.

Guest readers read holiday stories to attending participants. After storytime, children could sing along with guest singer Julie Aschbacher.

There was a Santa-themed craft and coloring sheet for each child as well as the opportunity to frost and decorate a sugar cookie.

Santa himself made a special appearance and each child could visit with him and get their picture taken.

All children received a goody bag and were able to put in their name for a chance to win a prize drawing.
