ESCANABA — Local theater group Players de Noc recently received a $1,000 donation from the Escanaba branch of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs.

GFWC had received a request from Players for funds to help cover the cost of replacing the lighting system destroyed in the fire at the William Bonifas Fine Arts Center in May.

The request was brought to GFWC-Escanaba’s general membership in November, and the vote to help was unanimous.

GFWC wishes Players de Noc all the best in their fundraising for new lights.

With heavy damage to their own theater and equipment, Players de Noc has been using the Besse Theater at Bay College since the fire.
