Police seek information on missing juveniles
ESCANABA/ROCK RIVER TOWNSHIP — Officials are looking for two voluntary juvenile runaways in two separate cases.
In Escanaba, public safety is looking for Maddie Nixon, 15, of Escanaba.
Nixon was reported missing at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, June 27.
According to public safety, Nixon was last seen on Ludington Street near the 300 block (Delta County Courthouse) on June 27.
The department requests that anyone with information regarding Nixon contact the office at (906) 786-5912.
In Alger County, the Michigan State Police (MSP) is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Jayden Whittenburg, 15, of Rock River Township.
Whittenburg reportedly snuck out of his foster residence on Pohjaja Road in Rock River Township during the early morning hours on Monday, June 30.
He is believed to be trying to get to a home on Marquette Street in Ishpeming, but has not been located yet.
Whittenburg is a black male, roughly 5’09” and weighing approximately 160 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, with a medium to dark skin complexion. He currently has an afro-style haircut at a medium length. There is no known clothing description.
MSP says Whittenburg may also be accompanied by an Irish Wolfhound dog.
“At this time, there are no known physical dangers to the juvenile or risks to the public, and no indication of foul play. However, the MSP is working to locate him and verify his well-being,” MPS said in a press release.
