Activities of the Menominee County Sheriff’s Department from March 21 to 27.

March 21

3:11 p.m. – Deputies along with fire were dispatched to a grass fire on M-35 in Menominee Township. The fire was able to be contained and no injuries were reported in the incident.

5:55 p.m. – a deputy was dispatched to an address on US 41 in Mellen Township for a report of a suspicious situation. The caller stated when she returned home, she noticed some items moved around and upon further investigation she advised that things were missing. An investigation was conducted and is ongoing.

11:28 p.m. – Deputies along with fire were dispatched to a structure fire on G-08 in Mellen Township. The caller stated the wood stove appeared to have caught on fire causing the living area to fill with smoke. Only minor damage was done by the fire and no injuries were reported.

March 22

6:32 a.m. – a deputy was dispatched to traffic crash on M-35 in Ingallston Township. A vehicle driven by Andre Kline (49) of Escanaba was traveling south on M-35 when she lost control on slippery roads and entered the ditch. The vehicle sustained disabling damage but no injuries were reported.

2:26 p.m. – a deputy was advised to contact a subject in reference to an assault that occurred several years ago. Contact was made with the caller and an investigation was conducted and is ongoing.

8:25 p.m. – Deputies were dispatched to a suspicious subject on Rangeline Dr in Ingallston Township. The caller stated a truck was parked in the roadway and the driver was not responding. Upon further investigation the driver, a 63-year-old Menominee man was arrested for operating while intoxicated and open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. The man was transported and lodged at the Menominee County Jail without incident.

9:25 p.m. – a deputy was advised to contact a subject in reference to a threat’s complaint on US 41 in Daggett Township. The caller stated a subject called him and threatened him and he just wanted it reported in case anything further happened.

March 24

5:42 p.m. – a deputy was dispatched to a residence on US 41 in Mellen Township for a report of a trespass complaint. The caller stated his neighbor is back at it again. He stated he had his neighbor warned of trespass back in 2022 but she is coming back over again and would like her warned again.

6:07 p.m. – a deputy was dispatched to a traffic crash on Church St in Mellen Township. A vehicle driven by Amber Dartt (24) of Menominee was traveling south on US 41 when she lost control on snow covered roads causing her to enter the ditch and strike a road sign. No injuries were reported and the vehicle did not sustain any damage.

March 25

5:12 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a stolen firearm complaint on River Dr in Menominee Township. Upon further investigation the complainant stated she was threatened as well. An investigation was conducted and is ongoing.

7:31 p.m. – a deputy was dispatched to a one vehicle traffic crash on G-18 in Holmes Township. A vehicle driven by Joshua Zuraski (42) of Daggett was traveling east on G-18 when he lost control ran off of the roadway causing functional damage to the front end. No injuries were reported in the crash.

March 26

7:32 a.m. – a deputy arrested a 65-year-old Wallace woman for trespass on US 41 in Mellen Township. The woman was advised the 95A District Court would notify her as to when she needed to appear.

March 27

7:48 a.m. – a deputy was dispatched to an address on #2.5 Rd in Menominee Township for a dumping complaint. Upon further investigation it appeared as though someone lost some cargo off of a trailer.

– 19 civil process services/attempts

– 1 vehicle vs deer crash

– 35 Law Enforcement assists/Medical calls

– 3 K-9 calls

– 11 mental health crisis calls

– 4 Liquor inspections

– 1 Salvage vehicle inspection
