ESCANABA — At a recent meeting of the board of trustees of the Edward J. Sackerson Charitable Foundation, the Trustees elected to award $144,038 to the following organizations
Holy Name School – $66,075.90, St. Joseph / St. Patrick Church – $4,805.52, Elks Major Projects – $1,201.38, Wells Lions Club Sight and Blind Fund – $1,955.20, St. Vincent de Paul – $12,500, Salvation Army – $12,500, Community Action Agency Walk for Warmth – $10,000, Welcome Newborns / CFUP – $2,000, Community Action Agency / Foster Grandparents – $1,000, Bay Cliff Health Camp – $1,000, Dept. Health Human Services Gifts needy kids – $3,000.00, Pregnancy Services of Delta County – $1,000, Gladstone High School Baseball Boosters – $1,000, Escanaba High School Baseball Boosters – $1,000, Bark River High School Baseball – $1,000, EHS Boys Tennis – $1,000, Delta County Cancer Alliance -$3,000, Youth Assistance Program (YAP) – $5,500, Special Olympics – $2,000, Friends of Gladstone Public Library – $1,500, Friends of Escanaba Library – $1,500, Delta County Animal Shelter – $3,000, Bonifas Fine Arts Center – $1,000, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Bay Area – $1,000, Lakestate Industries – $2,000, Tri County Safe Harbor – $1,000, Lakeview Cemetery fence project – $1,500.
Edward J. Sackerson was a lifetime resident of Escanaba. The foundation is set up for the benefit of residents of Delta County.
